iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ was approached to carry out a HD camera survey on two new 14”ns heat exchanger pipeline systems in the north of Scotland to verify defect free construction & internal cleanliness for commissioning. Prior to the HD camera survey, the pipelines were cleaned using iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ cleaning pigs to remove construction debris.
Following review of the project details & discussions with the Client, iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ provided a complete cleaning & survey package consisting of:
- Project management
- Manufacture of foam cleaning & gauging pigs
- Manufacture of dual density HD camera foam pigs
- Manufacture of receiving can
- Manufacture of ported pigging blind
- Hire of LED illuminated HD camera technology
- Supply of manpower
A series of foam cleaning pigs were run prior to the HD camera pig, consisting of low density criss cross coated foams, followed by medium density single spiral nylon brushed foams. These were run by the client prior to the arrival of iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ personnel to remove construction debris.
iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ personnel arrived on site & after completing the necessary safety briefings & inductions, proceeded to load & launch the first HD camera pig. Two camera surveys were performed in each heat exchanger with footage downloaded after each run & presented to the customer. The footage provided a clear 360° view throughout the full length of the system with all features, welds, & spool identifications visible allowing easy correlation between the footage & pig location. Pigs were received in the iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ manufactured receiving cans allowing for a quick recovery & subsequent run of pigs, making efficient use of the time on site.
